This piece is part of a series exploring the concept of corvids within gothic subculture and folklore. Within this painting are pages from classic gothic horror novels such as “Dracula” and Edgar Allen poe’s “the raven” used as collage.

Depth has been created by sanding back between layers to reveal details underneath. Some text from the book pages can be seen. Specifically for this piece a chapter involving Miss Lucy from the Dracula novel can be seen within the layers of the painting.
